I watched the full movie about this called “Tread”. I recall he had a clever way of gifting money to his siblings that kept it from being repossessed by the authorities. He gifted it to his dying father, who died before the rampage and passed it on to Marv’s siblings. After being handed off in an inheritance the authorities couldn’t touch it.
