I worked in the biggest bike shop downtown some 20 years ago (great way to kill your passion btw) and was blown away when the original came out. We put it on the TVs one Saturday morning and must have had +100 customers and staff just glued to the screens for the 45 minutes of the Upsala run. Absolutely insane footage. When Ghostrider 2 came out, it was obvious to us that it was a different rider. Some say the original rider died in a wreck.

It's unfortunate if he died. May he live on forever in our minds.

When I was about 26 I commuted to work each day on a motorcycle. By car it was over an hour each way but splitting lanes brought that down to just over 30.

The traffic was usually stopped or just barely crawling so there wasn't too much danger from someone quickly switching lanes right in front of you but obviously still possible. I used to think I was crazy when I'd be doing 60mph in between cars mostly at a stop and barely dodging mirrors or squeezing through between two cars that were too close for now reason.

One day some guy on a Harley came up behind me so I let him pass. He was loud and had wide handle bars so people moved out of his way quickly. But I noticed they'd move back right after him and then would ignore me. He was doing 80-90... So I figured it was best to just catch up with him and keep pace close enough that I could just use the gap he created. Watching this clip reminded me of that.

Anyone else experienced with riding motorcycles. Did you also notice that drivers would intentionally get close to the car next to them so you couldn't lane split between them? It's obvious when you see them make eye contact when you're a few cars back and then they scoot over in their lane... I've slapped more than a few mirrors on purpose.
