Disagree. Someone pushing it is striking it with their hand. Which is also a solid mass.
If you “strike” a steel rod to push it rather then place your hand on it your going to have a pretty sore hand.
This is a physics experiment. "to strike" and "to touch" are the same exact thing. They're both "touching" an object regardless of force used. That detail, if it were important would have been added to the project.
I didn’t say touch neither did the guy in the video. To touch with your and to strike with a hammer will not have the same effect on the atomic structure of the steel. It’s the shock from the impact of the hammer that causes the atomic deformation of the steel to delay movement at the other end. If what your saying is true the hammer wouldn’t exist. We could simply touch a nail and it would go in. Did you watch the video or are you just surfing comments looking for shit to “disagree with”?
