Weight and gravity make trees HUGE stores of potential energy.
The bigger the tree the easier it is to get killed. I have never been hurt by taking down a tree but use an abundance of caution when taking them down and recently took down a LOT of trees, some of them large oaks and sweetgums.
When they start to go over, you quickly walk away, far away.
I've only had to trim branches, but even then they can be deceptively heavy.
I have seen many videos of people smashing their truck or garage by miscalculating where they will fall. That's always good for a laugh and at least no one got hurt.
Have you seen the videos of people on ladders trimming branches that take down their ladders? It's pretty hard to drop a large branch from a ladder in a way it won't take out your ladder.....
