In 1999 we had a big storm in France that left many trees flat on the ground. There was a corridor from west to east of France with huge forests to clean up. There was not enough trained timbermen/firefighters to do the clean up. A lot of untrained people lost their lives during the cleaning.

It wasn't so much for the chainsaws. What killed those guys was physics. Just like in the video, a fallen tree has a lot of spring energy charged and really to snap when you going to cut it. A little bit like a trebuchet.
