When I was younger I didn't know that Down Syndrome people all look the same. I would occasionally see a male down syndrome kid and I would think it was the same kid. I'm like, how the fuck do I keep seeing this same guy everywhere. I was confused because he always seemed to have different parents around him. I figured he must have been adopted and was being passed around like a difficult pet. I felt sorry for him. Then I ran into a female down syndrome and ruled out the statistical impossibility that it was his sister. I discussed the issue with my friend and he explained to me that all Down Syndrome people look alike.
I'm just grateful that this happened in the 80s instead of today or I would have just assumed he transitioned his gender.
One day they will eliminate racism by giving us all one extra chromosome.
