Went on a charter boat for bear hunting out of there there's also an abandoned military installation there. The scariest part is when you're going out of the bay and the tsunami line is 200 feet up and there's actually stairs there.
Whittier is a tourist trap and also a stop on the ferry. Nothing else really. Well coolish commercial docks if you like fishing.
