What's weird about that? The whole reason why people move to new lands and settle there is to get away from the idiot assholes from the previous location.
Then eventually technology evolves and makes it simple to get to the new location for the idiot assholes and they move there pushing people farther and farther.
Hell that's one of the main reasons why people want to brave the dangers of outer space and settle on a distant planet. To get away from all the idiot assholes.
