Chosen to the Jews just means they have extra shit to do, hence the concept of tikkun olam. God's original promise to Noah was to not destroy the earth physically. His covenant with Abraham was to keep Him present in the world.
Non-jews can still be good people (Judaism doesn't have a heaven or hell as Christianity does so its not about avoiding damnation), they just have less rules.
