Right? Everything you could do with 1 simple, straightforward manual action takes 3 to 4 electronic selections....and what happens when you've got a cup in the cupholder amd you accidentally brush thr "close" button on the app?

I wouldn't go 5 minutes without wrecking every one of those dumb functions.

I can't even get Samsung to update the software on my 5 year old TV anymore, and my Outlook and Adobe constantly find new ways to malfunction despite having 20 years+ to work all the bugs out. To own a vehicle where every single system follows that same path of incompetence and obsolescence is madness. If given the choice between this software filled abortion and a 1975 Dodge Dart, I'd drive the Dart all day long even without AC.

And if my wife's car bitches at me one more time about changing lanes without my turn signal, I'm gonna rip its guts out with a pair of pliers.

The new JEEP Gladiators have lane sensors too. If you get mud on them, and try to drive, they throw a code that will put the vehicle in "limp mode" until you get the code cleared at the dealer.

Mud. On THE SIDE of a Jeep....completely disables it.

On the new Toyotas, half the car is not functional when the sensors are down. So if you use cruise control and there's mud on the front sensor or it freezes (very very common in Wyoming), than the cruise control is COMPLETELY disabled. Same with blind side monitoring, it gets confused all the time by birds, debris, and the LIDAR system being retarded. You end up having to turn off half the sensors because they are absolutely useless

That is a GREAT point. So what technology is really doing is giving authorities access to infinite behaviour modification methodologies. This will never be used in appropriate ways and will only allow authoritarians to enforce their political views on users.
