His matched-length traces aren't necessarily matched any longer. Those curving traces are curved for a reason. They intended to do two things: 1. match the conductor length of a pair of lines that have timing/phase sensitive signals and 2. keeping the impedance issues between differential pairs of serial communication lines to a minimum. This will probably work fine, but in timing or impedance critical applications, you can't just do any old repair and have good results. This sort of work would not fly in very high frequency circuits where the width, thickness and length of traces are absolutely critical to the circuit theory of operation. You have to do proper repairs or replacements in those applications because you can't control the impedance, inductance or capacitance with such a hack.
