batteries have a lifespan, they don't hold their charge as much. . . if we factor in planned obsolescence they are probably designed to degrade over time even faster than they should. I personally would still file them under "very long term", but to keep that in mind with batteries, which he didn't mention.

phone batteries are notorious for crapping out quick like the iphones, that there is an industry just for replacing them. The manufacturers never designed them to be replaced by consoomers like the old dumb phones (they do this as an incentive to buy a new phones instead).
