does she name the jew?
Umm. not sure. just started watching. she is very based in an artistic way. - I like her
yeah, i just started watching. it is different, but kind of refreshing. reminds me of those cheesy educational films from school. that may also be the intention.
Reminds me of Dad: https://www.youtube.com/c/DadFeels
I'm sure this sort of weird style goes back further. Like... that middle age of adult swim on Cartoon Network, when they went insane and started experimenting with all kinds of hallucinogens or something.
The actors behave very unnaturally and awkwardly, uncannily, and often creepily. The situations they're placed in are bizarre, seemingly senseless madness which has layers upon layers of meaning (mostly only insiders probably truly understood some of that shit). The overall feeling that the director seems to want to dredge out of the audience is a weird discomfort, bordering on tension, sometimes switching between the two. Very little is explained, if anything- the vagary of some of these style skits can be infuriating.
"Wham City" is a studio that churns out a lot of content like this. Sometimes, I question the appeal of this "make you feel unnerved for no reason" style... but then someone like Dad comes along and pulls off some genuinely hilarious, clever, or scary stuff, and it's clear that this style of film can be good. It's just that you have to sort through a ton of absolute nonsense to get to the gems. Does this kind of thing have a name for a genre/style?
