The moral of this story is that women DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY WANT. The reason for this is because they are narcissistically driven. If you feed the narcissism (and materialism feeds narcissism) they will eventually be unhappy regardless of anything else. The only thing in life a woman truly needs (beyond the necessities) is a good man.
