Recommendation: Watch it or don't, depends on your interest.
Summary: Alex makes the point that a huge part of what is going on is human general tendency toward cult and doomsday cult like behaviour. You can see it everywhere in all sorts of dimensions. The most obvious is religious fervour, but you can also see it in politics, consumer behaviour (Apple customers) and on and on.
I believe cult and doomsday cult behaviours are engaged through subtle manipulations of various subsystems in our brains, some of which are evoluiontarily ancient.
Of course, it is more complex than that and parasitic species of humans like jews not only having their own versions of this in terms of messianic religious / secular belief systems but having a special sense for seeing these natural weaknesses in other human species and exploiting them. We can even invoke recursive feedback loops in the various economic and political systems that we have created acting as amplifiers for these generic interspecies wide patterns.
Anyway, it's neat to see Alex really get at this single aspect of it. A good show.
