I used to be a dogperson. But after i got cat, ill never go solo dog again (dont get me wrong, i adore dogs) . Cats are even superior "dog moms" as they will make any puppy chill the FUCK out if its brought up by a cat alone, as the puppy will emulate its "parent" mellow down. it will seldom bark, because the feline will fuck him up if he is a little barking shit.
