Some kid probably became a locksmith after his encounter with one of these things.

Kind of like how I got into electronics after defeating my parents' security system they installed to keep me from sneaking out at night at age 16.

It was really easy to disable, too; zero redundancy. Useful to disable it even if you weren't using knockoff carts or whatnot because it was responsible for the console not properly booting most of the time (flashing grey screen).

Great for when you don't want your kid playing video games before homework but you can't be bothered to actually watch them.
