I know what a rifle is but what is an " assault rifle"?
He mentions in the video why he intentionally used the term. Most of these rifles are actual full auto or select fire variants and not the so called “civilian” versions
Sorry didnt listen to the video, I'm listening to something else.
Is "assault rifle" a real legal term?
You are being silly. An Enfield was an assault rifle in 1916. Are you trolling for the neo liberal faggot term to describe scary black rifles?
"Assault" rifle,is a classification of said weapon by either the Mfg.-Govt.agency,or FFL.
Legally, probably. It was also designated as a term in the US Army's 1970 small arms intelligence booklet FCTC-CW-07-03-70. The features of intermediate caliber, box magazines, and select fire are their defining properties.
A lot of people will split hairs over the term and conflate it with the totally bogus "assault weapon", which does not have a clear definition.
I think the germans in WWII coined the term but the media coopted it in the 80’s for their gun grabbing propaganda
