Countermeasures are a beautiful thing. To my knowledge, no modern missiles have smoke trails. It gives the pilot too much information about range and direction allowing them to evade it. The missile fired at these helos is likely a cold ware relic and older than I am.

Probably a simple MANPADS like a US made Stinger missile (which is a Cold War relic but in service today)
