A medium sized town has been self sufficient for generations. Coexisting with neighboring town in relative peace. Everyone worked, some more, some less but everyone was at least on a certain level that ensured they had no real wants. One day a mason strolls into town. Starts a secret club with the structure of a pyramid scheme. Obviously he must be on top of that pyramid. Before long, 75% of the townspeople are living in shambles, working twice as hard and always sick and hungry. The men feel no purpose as most women ignore them and all compete for the wealthiest 10 men. So ten guys are doing nothing but fucking hot young girls in their palaces while the rest toil for crumbs and scraps. One day a man who remembers the mason coming to town as a boy has an opportunity to ask the mason why he came and started his super secret club. The mason replies that it's all for the greater good, to save humanity from overpopulation. The man laughs at the response, tears streaming from his beet red face. He asks the mason if he really thinks people are this stupid? Before the mason can reply he adds that you can only fool some of the people some of the time and he is no fool. I too need to save humanity, he adds, it is why I've poisoned your food and drink and walks away.
