Well thank you for this. I now have someone new to check out. I like his messaging and have been struggling with how and what to teach my kids. Western philosophy is great and all, but I've been severed from past spirituality and would like to learn more.

If you want Western mysticism it is hiding in Hermeticism. A watered down (more palatable to the masses) version is contained in Blavatsky's The Secret Doctrine, and Rosicrucianism. Too xtian-based for me, just as kaballah is to jew-based, and Sufi is too islamaholic....but for one that can tolerate the stench of Abrahamic-based religions, it could be worth a look.
