I don' know why the men who build these little flying machines don't build them for low, sustained flight, which would be extremely useful. I'm talking about six feet off the ground. Such a machine could take advantge of the ground effect. It could be computer limited to a height of between, say, 5 and 7 feet, which the on-board computer would automatically maintain as it went over obstacles. The result would be somewhat similar to the hover bikes in Star Wars. You don't need to go a 1000 feet up to fly -- you can fly at 6 feet. Imagine the off-road possibilities of such a craft.
There already are hovercraft, and have been for decades, but this would be a major improvement over the past and current designs, which are easily damaged by ground debris.
I found out there was big ass hover ship that used to ferry people from england to the mainland. I think they used it for 20 years or something
