I don' know why the men who build these little flying machines don't build them for low, sustained flight, which would be extremely useful. I'm talking about six feet off the ground. Such a machine could take advantge of the ground effect. It could be computer limited to a height of between, say, 5 and 7 feet, which the on-board computer would automatically maintain as it went over obstacles. The result would be somewhat similar to the hover bikes in Star Wars. You don't need to go a 1000 feet up to fly -- you can fly at 6 feet. Imagine the off-road possibilities of such a craft.

There already are hovercraft, and have been for decades, but this would be a major improvement over the past and current designs, which are easily damaged by ground debris.

I found out there was big ass hover ship that used to ferry people from england to the mainland. I think they used it for 20 years or something

Uhhh.... if it's "manned" then it can't really be considered a 'drone' though.

Can't you hear? It was clearly making a droning noise.

lol I guess you're right...

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, is an aircraft without any human pilot, crew or passengers on board. UAVs are a component of an unmanned aircraft system (UAS), which include additionally a ground-based controller and a system of communications with the UAV.[1] The flight of UAVs may operate under remote control by a human operator, as remotely-piloted aircraft (RPA), or with various degrees of autonomy, such as autopilot assistance, up to fully autonomous aircraft that have no provision for human intervention.

There's a Wallace and Gromit episode in here somewhere

All those blades pointed right at his head. I think I would have either raised the blades or lowered the seat.

But then the seat belts (images-cdn.9gag.com) wouldn't reach.

Dam, Looks like a jew came up with that design.

What's wrong with black socks?

[–] 0 pt

This guy loves big fat black socks

[–] 0 pt

The only people who wear white socks are fat retards, pedos and people who's mothers still shop for them

I only have black socks. What is that supposed to mean?

[–] 2 pts

Nothing at all.

Someone once said rock n roll isn't a dude with long hair dressed in boots leather and a bullet belt. Rock n roll is a 55 year old fat dude standing in times square in boomer shorts a hawaiian shirt flipflops with black socks looking up and taking pictures.

What they were saying is the dude in leather gives a fuck what others think. That isn't rock n roll. The fat dude in flip flops and black socks doesn't give a fuck what anyone thinks. That is rock n roll.

The dude in this video is pure rock n roll. Doesn't give a fuck and built something out of off the shelf parts ANYONE could have but did not have the fucking balls to do it. Watch the sports dude in the back walk with his kid. Perfectly dressed and in shape. He spends so much time on him self he would never build anything like this because he would be worried what people think about him.

It's the little things that set us far apart.

That makes sense. I wear black socks because they don't look as dirty as white socks when they are old. I like to think I don't care what other people think about me but I still have to at least pretend to care.

Blaaaaaack socks,

they never get dirty,

the more that you wear them,

the blacker they get!

[–] 0 pt

Yes, someone explain the stereotype of the black socks wearer.

[–] 0 pt

Michael Jackson wore white socks and it didn't even look cool on him.

Bad design. Hang gliders (t4.ftcdn.net) distribute the weight better and allow for steering.

Sometimes it's not about if one should, but rather, if one can.

It looks to be based (badly) on the VTOL craft...sans much directional control or stability.
