Had the crackhead with the machete been shot at the appropriate time, the taxpayers would save thousands, the dog would be at home chasing a ball, and the cop wouldn't be explaining to his wife why he got shot during an interaction with a criminal holding only a blade.

The minute the police dog was stabbed was the minute both officers should've shot him. Attacking a pd k9 is assaulting an officer. Instead both the dog and the handler got stabbed before their backup shot Mr.bathsaltz in a towel

Cops send in the dog. When a dog latches onto your arm or leg or balls and starts tearing into your flesh, your instinct is to defend yourself. But once you defend yourself, you're attacking a "K9 officer", so they can use deadly force to shoot you dead. Seems like an easy way to kill the suspect and at the same time be the hero--defending a "K9 officer".

Actual police shooting incidents often look nothing like the movies. I've watched more Police Activity vids than is probably healthy. This one didn't look particularly weird. Some guy, high as fuck on drugs, running around half naked with an knife and ending up getting shot. That's a fairly normal occurrence. If you want a freaky one, there was one where a meth'd out chick armed with scissors attacks the cop, he shoots her and she does a full front flip before dropping to the ground (here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLbKSysIc6Q), she even has a "shoot me nigger" thrown in.

They had two patrol units, but they chose to engage in a foot pursuit instead of bracketing him. They sent a K9 after a dude with a machete and a steel sign pale. They had the opportunity and failed. Hire better pigs.

They sent a K9 after someone armed with a machete and a knife, and then when he started stabbing the dog, surprise pikachu face. And one of them tried to engage in a wrestling match with the armed burglar. Utter incompetence.
