The French utterly collapsed within 20 years of the American revolution, in large part due to their profligate spending in support of American independence. Have you looked around at America's economic and political situation lately? We'll see if we even make it a long as the French did before a complete societal collapse. As for caring what the Russians think, I don't. It's called empathy. I can imagine myself in their shoes. That doesn't mean I adopt or agree with their point of view.
