Security systems can be defeated much of the time with barely any know-how.

In the early 00's when I was a teenager, my parents had a security system installed on the house. Not to keep niggers out, mind you... it's purpose was strictly to keep my ass inside at night; to prevent me from sneaking out of the house at night. At that time, I had virtually zero electronics knowledge, other than a circuit goes in a circle and that there exists a + and a -. Took seconds to figure out that the door and window sensors were just magnets that make-or-break the circuit. With some practice on the un-armed alarm system, figured out the trick to re-wiring the circuit without tripping the alarm; whatever you do, don't let the door circuit open when re-wiring while alarm is armed (happened, oops!).

One day, I forgot to "fix" the alarm system back to a working state upon my return from my late-night whatever the hell I was doing. Father noticed door wasn't beeping when opened. Whupped my ass then made me show him what I did and how I did it. Parents never armed the alarm at night after that, why bother... alarm system just collected dust until we moved.

I can imagine the thoughts going through my father's head as I showed him how the alarm system they spent a fortune installing was so easily defeated. Fucking more money down the drain...

Hah. When I was younger a friend of mine had run away from home and so they got their first caller ID box and had it hidden in the closet so that if he called home they would be able to figure out where he was staying. So once we found out they had the caller ID box we used *67 to call anonymously. Caller ID was expensive when it first came out in those days.

*67 only worked on people who didnt know they could call Ameritech (member that??) and get the last number that called without caller ID. A lady down the street we prank called knew this, we didnt at the time... they got us man!

My parents were wise to that shit. If we tried to pull the "I'm spending the night at prairie's house" my dad tell me I'm going to call their house at a random time between 9 pm and 1 am. You better answer. And he would, too.

I always figure anyone could break in while I'm not home, and it would suck, but I don't really care. If I'm here, I have a dog and some weapons, so good luck sneaking up.
