Do yourself a favor and listen to the "Pandemic Socialism" episode of the Tom Woods show:

https://tomwoods.com/ep-2019-pandemic-socialism/

And maybe grab a copy of Hayek's Counter-Revolution of Science, Studies on the Abuse of Reason:

https://mises.org/library/counter-revolution-science-0

I noticed a lot of 'bergs' had written the articles they used as examples of "scientocracy" in today's world.

Soooooo ... I agree with the general idea that pure rationalism, while useful in certain dimensions, does not fully encompass the human experience. The human experience, as our minds are trapped in our skulls behind a hardware firewall of a neuro sensory network exists in a kind of grasping at the rational (because it is verifiably contiguous) and the fictional (the folklore that we pass on between generations), requires the rational pursuit within the realization that we need to collectively socialize in our own peoples fiction.

What this whole thing misses is the advanced notion of a firewall. We have one built into us, it is called us, the person the label the name that we call us. It is a thin pieced of software that exists in our pre-frontal cortex and one of it's jobs is to act as a firewall and preotect us from malicious actors. We need to add to the hardwar firewall is a kind of wetware firewall that is somewhat permeable in that it accepts the input from the world at face value but it performs rational checks to make sure it fits into our fictional / metaphysical reality that our brains have to exist in.

To put it another way, reality is great, science is great, vefifiable proof is great but it is all in service of propagating our genese and moving our people forward and if that means sometimes leaning on fiction and our mythology to get the job done, so be it. When science and fact is more useful to move our genes forward, so be it, let fact trump fiction.

The future for our people is the ability for them to merge the worlds of fact and fiction and rebias the balance between both as necessary.

Thanks for this post, it's deep, but in the unusual way that it force a re-evaluation of our current best case understanding of our reality from the perspective of someone that shouts at us from the past.
