"Look Who's Back," is the name of the movie this is from. It is a fictional comedy but also speaks to our modern reality. Would recommend.
The story (no spoilers) is that Hitler comes out of a bunker in downtown Munich somehow. He sees our modern problems and becomes a leader for change.
This is one of those films that many people won't connect with, but I enjoyed. It has some outrageously funny moments IMO.
Though it should be noted, the movie is fiction but the reactions of people to Hitler were real and unscripted.
the movie is fiction
You mean Hitler didn't really come back?
He came back in our hearts, fren.
Yes just wanted to clarify, it wasn't a documentary, I'm sorry to say haha
What do you mean?
Do you mean when filming by standers reacted?
Yeah. Unscripted reactions of bystanders were included in the film. There are various articles kvetching about the fact that regular Germans reacted this way.
This says 300 hours of reactions were filmed. According to the director, the ones included in the film were "very representative". I don't know if that's true, but maybe so. https://www.theguardian.com/film/2015/oct/06/hitler-look-whos-back-director-david-wnendt-interview
The only nitpick I have from memory is the scene of him desecrating a Dog's corpse to use as a comedy prop. That's definitely not what Uncle Adolf would do.
You wouldn't happen to have a link to the movie on hand, would you?
Many thanks
I remember watching it years ago. Don't recall much about it. It was suggested as a comedy. I don't recall laughing much.
