“Materialism” defies causation. Matter must have a cause. Matter exists. Therefore a Necessary Being must have caused the matter to exist.
We view the effects (effects of the cause) of the Necessary Being, even if we cannot perceive the Necessary Being “itself.”
We lack absolute knowledge of the material, otherwise we would ourselves be absolute. We therefore cannot assert that nothing beyond the material exists, since we cannot even adequately quantify the material.
This does not throw open the door to any and all beyond the material, merely the understanding that there must be a Necessary Being as cause for matter.
Materialism is the foundation of secular humanism and transhumanism. These ideas at their core are built on the premise of denying all evidence of a creator, the Necessary Being, and any system of order or authority it might assign.
Their purpose is assertion of a relativistic system granting the definition of truth and reality to those in authority, ultimately even in defiance of empiricism if it runs contrary to their narratives.
This is the “clown world” we see today.
Would it be accurate to describe imperialism as the synthesis of materialism and idealism?
>This is the “clown world” we see today.
Hmmm ... Let's see.
>“Materialism” defies causation.
You wrote that in public.
LUL
I don’t see the problem.
I'm in a feisty mood. Apologies for the personal attack.
