It depends what your takeaway on this is, if you are using it to prop up some idea that recycling is a waste of time then that's a bit misguided and lazy.

We should be using this to pressure manufacturers to reduce the amount of plastic in their products, not just to sit there with your thumb up your bum and do nothing.

You might only recycle 9% in the USA, but Europe manages 30% with not much effort, meanwhile India does 60%

You can't call yourself conservatives if you don't bother to conserve anything

I'd like to see a reduction in the use of plastics to increase durability, not so much for recycling.If it's cost-effective, it'll take care of itself rather than being lectured to by SJW's.

If the reason to not do something is the messenger, then you might wait a long time for a capitalist to point out we are polluting the food chain?

The problem comes when costs are diffused. Phthalates kill 100,000 people a year, but that's not priced into the cost of plastics. If all of the costs of plastics were Incorporated into its cost it may not be so attractive.
