Simply check your credit report. No need to get one's panties in a twist. You can fight mistakes on your report. It happens. I checked mine just to make sure and they had 2-3 errors and I wrote a letter to correct it. As far as the cable company, if they have erroneously reported anything send them a copy of the letter. Make sure to the correct department so it's not going into the great beyond. If they get really nasty, a lawyer will write a letter for about $100 demanding cease and desist the bullshit. If you owe them $$$, get it paid off. Easy for stuff to slip through the cracks and is the reason I ask for a $0 balance letter from any service I halt.
