Someone figured out that you can have adjustable blades on a horizontally mounted axis and built a 4 wheel like heli style machine.

I like the safety of having the spinning blades outboard rather than overhead.

Should have linked to non gay channel of the actual company working on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2qkhmz4z1E

This can easily be a new approach that hybridizes aeroplanes + helicopters. You could either build these and stick wing and horizontal propulsion to get fast forward motion (although this can self propel forward anyway on its own) or you could build these into a system that can be attached to aeroplanes to give them vtol capability.

I had to look up a quicknotes on what this is. I will now have to read the book.

You people on this site are so fucking interesting.

We are kind of on that path already, aren't we? At least 30% of western population not only believes what that book writes about, they would happily kill the 30% of the population that doesn't believe that.

What an interesting comment.

Aldous Huxley got more right about predicting the future dystopia than George Orwell did.

Where Orwell predicted a tyrannical system of propaganda for social control that robs people of their humanity, Huxley predicted that the people would demand control and forfeit their humanity willingly to government out of ignorance and fear.
