Saying we conquered this land is an overstatement.....the Natives didnt "own" all of the land here and they were already fighting each other for portions of it....we settled the debate.

I only occasionally have issue with the word "we." Even if we visit the sins, or virtues, of the grandfather onto the grandson, most Americans now aren't descended from Western pioneers. I don't think anyways. There were so many waves of immigration.
