Prepare to be bored at everything you didn't know, and save money with superior dishwashing results.

Not entertaining but informative nonetheless.

Don't waste 48 minutes. Go to Home Depot and buy trisodium phosphate in the painting supply aisle. Use 1/3 as much detergent and add a teaspoon of TSP. This is what was removed from dish and laundry detergents.

Ain’t that the old wall cleaner/prep for painting?

[–] 2 pts

It softens and dulls paint making it easier for new paint to stick. A strong solution in water will remove paint from things like switch and outlet plates if you get sloppy.

Yep. Phosphates have many uses. Big Ag uses a shit ton of it in fertilizers.

If you can still find it. A lot of shit is labeled with big letters "TSP" and in the fine print explains it's a phosphate free substitute. TSP is good stuff but it was blamed for eutrification of ponds--like anyone still dumps waste water into ponds.

If it works without it why should we care?

Btw, good comment.

For many years after phosphates were banned in consumer detergents, they just sucked. You'd need to add a booster of some kind or run longer cycles (or two cycles). At the same time high efficiency machines were also mandated. The combination meant everything sucked. In the years since both detergents and machines have improved, but simply adding phosphate will guarantee good results in your dishwasher and clothes washer regardless. Whenever your machine needs cleaning just run it with two or three tablespoons of TSP.

Is it safe to eat (have on your plates and dishes in case the rinse cycle doesn't get all of it off?)

Yeah, I remember when the soap sucked because of the phosphate ban. No issues with it now, though. Works just fine.

Thanks... now I'll use the shit out of these saved 48 minutes!

I also like this channel.

That's a nice tweed jacket but it looks awful with a t-shirt under it. That might even be a Harris tweed too. Shame really.

Uh. Okay.

[–] 0 pt

What? Tweed is serous business. You don't own a Harris tweed? Shame really.

I automatically assume that anyone under the age of 40 that brags about tweed must have a voice like the guy in this video

Bored? I watched this guy talk about a toaster for 2 hours. Not toasters in general, or a type of toaster. One particular brand and model of toaster. For 2 hours.

Make good toast?

[–] 1 pt

Yes, it does! It also uses metallurgical and electronic engineering to control everything. It uses gravity to feed to load and metals and analog electronics to lower and raise the toast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OfxlSG6q5Y

I want one of those know and I rarely eat toast. Engineering excellence.

What have I sucked myself into? I know I'm going to wind up watching at least some of that.
