He sounds like a commie at the beginning. He lists all of the ills of something he doesn't like without any consideration of the benefits, nor of the alternatives. What would we do without roads that belong to cars? Oh, we'd hand over our ability to travel to government control.

Communists fucking hate the freedoms that the free enterprise system has brought to more people than anything else. They don't like that almost any one can just hop in their car and drive wherever they want to go without their trip having been approved by some central planner or government authority. They hate that the car allows people to live far away from the cities they control. "How dare you come and work here but choose not to live with our taxes, homeless, and disregard for law and order!"

And the solution he proposes, the superblocks or whatever he calls them. How does he plan to build them? We already have streets and houses and buildings. We don't get to just demolish everything and start over. He dreams of the state owning everything--communism--so that it can centrally plan the whole city.
