The Judah-heritage comes through Tamara, an Aramean, not Judah's Canaanite wife. I think "Judahite" is like "Benjaminite," where as "Judean" is a subject of the Judean state. If someone was descended from Judah and from Canaan, they were already a "mamzer" (illegitimate) because they are the product of what God forbade.
If people think the Levant always had nothing but MENA populations, then how to do they explain us being named after Europa, a Phoenician princess (often depicted with red hair), or the Phoenician Alphabet being the basis for Greek/ Latin alphabets, or the Phoenician trade routes and colonies going all the way up into Europe's coastlines- why don't modern Europeans have more MENA admixture? At most they were Mediterranean/ Atlantid.
