Well I googled it so now I'm an expert. Sheriff's can only get fired if they're convicted of a felony or found to have broken the law. Sheriff's are elected not hired so firing them so tricky. Now the county pays his paycheck so they can reduce his pay depending on a vote from either the council or commissioner.
