I had a Bouvier des Flandres who would regularly get up and patrol the whole house several times a night and check on all the family members. We had to sleep with the doors open because he hated a closed door. He would sit in front of it, whining and scratching until somebody got up to open it.

Interestingly enough, he seemed to know when daddy and mommy were having their "special private happy fun time" and would leave us alone. But if you were sleeping in there? The door better be open. If he ever bothered any of the boys while they were executing a "manual over-ride", they never said anything.
