I guess I'm going back to the hardware store for some Irwin vice grips. In the last Project Farms test Irwins 8 inch diagonal cut pliers performed very well and had a cheap price so I grabbed a pair for the tool box.
My personal toolbox is American first. But I have a few Irwin items for the family so they're not digging into my tools.
Channel Lock is my preferred brand. But I bought some Klein diagonal cutters instead after a Project Farm video. I also have a pair of Irwin diagonal cutters for the family.
It appears that some of Irwin's tools are still made with the old American tooling that was moved to a Chinese production facility. So they tend to be slightly better than the other made in China brands.
I already have some older Vice Grips from my parents. So I'm able to wait while saving up to buy a set of Malco's various & .
Irwin generally has given the best value, it's pretty impressive! Made in USA would be better, but sometimes you just need a tool for one job. I'll admit, this video reminded me I don't have a pair of vice grips. Brb.
