That is a fair point. Realistically, if you only ask to go half way that is where you end up.
This is what I really liked about Trump. He understands that everything is a negotiation. If you want to get what you want, you ask for more than you get and negotiate your way down. If you only ask for half of what you want, you get less than that.

Well, technically, the persuasion conversation is for our people. This is why Jared is doing a half ask instead of a full ask. He feels he cannot package the big ask in a way that is palatable. He actually was in software sales, he knows how to sell. There are videos of him on Gary Killdalls tv show doing software sales type thing.
Which brings up the persuasion question of how to understand the spectrum of challenges that stand in the way of a big ask being able to penetrate and get our people re-align their aliegences.
