The tactic that worked well for Trump over the years is criticizing his opponents relentlessly. Take any of their weaknesses and hammer it home repeatedly. That is what is on display here. As a tactic it forces the other person on defense and pushes the spotlight away from the attacker. It's plainly obvious to me. Trump will continue this line of attack because one, he's right and two, I think this is just how he operates. I agree with a bunch (most) of his policies but his political tact is predictable.
