I like this "we live in the best possible world" explanation. That IS how they think as it allows them to explain away and justify any and all atrocities because they are being done "for the greater good".
It also means they can ignore very recent events, such as the Tuskegee Experiments.

They stopped using that vaccine after perhaps two dozen adverse events. Meanwhile you have hundreds of thousands as a result of the clot shots for the wubonic plague and it's business as normal.
