They showed the data that people, particularly children, who had well water with naturally occurring fluoride had significantly less tooth decay than people who did not have the naturally occurring fluoride in their water supply. That's called the observation portion of the scientific method. Then they formed the hypothesis based on that observation. I wouldn't call that propaganda.
I believe the natural occuring flouride is calcium fluoride and can be beneficial whereas what is put into the water supply is sodium fluoride, a neurotoxin and byproduct of aluminum manufacturing.
Also, let's say fluoride in the water is beneficial. What's the proper dosage? Fluorosis is a potential issue. How much is too much? Why do we need it in our toothpaste and oral care products too? Why does a tube of toothpaste say to contact poison control if you injest it but its ok to drink?
It's not appropriate to dispense medication to the public without dosing it for body weight etc especially when we receive fluoride in oral care products, during dental cleanings, and in our food supply which was produced with fluoridated water.
Sodium fouride ceases to be sodium fouride when introduced to the body. I am so sick of repeating this. The chemical reaction in the body creates FLOUROAPETITE.
If you did 2 minutes of research you'd see toothpaste is 2000x more concentrated that water and ingesting too much can cause a temporary irregular heart beat that should be monitored until passes. That's why.
