you can produce hydrogen from incompletely burning wood...

I've converted several cheap portable Honda gasoline-electric generators to run off of hydrogen produced from an open wood fire. it's actually not that hard if you know what you're doing... it was just getting that first one to crank that required creativity.

I bet it wouldn't be too hard to convert an old Toyota pickup into a wood-electric vehicle if I needed to. no steam involved. just need wood to keep going. just imagine getting up early in the morning to start the car by lighting a fire in the bed. lolol.

You can also make your own diesel from bio sources. The trick is to have the rights kind of ICE.

Basically a wood fire in a tin connected by cooling pipes to the engine with a trap for the gunk that gums up the engine.

Works. Theres a vid with a guy with an old.... chevy something (its a toyota corona ute with a chev badge)
