Gasifier.

Basically a wood fire in a tin connected by cooling pipes to the engine with a trap for the gunk that gums up the engine.

Works. Theres a vid with a guy with an old.... chevy something (its a toyota corona ute with a chev badge)

Rocket City Rednecks powered a homestead with a wood fire fueled diesel generator.
