After the last half year or so on here, I have met a lot of really talented and very well trained people and a lot of people that have no understanding of what they don't know and no training about the basics of how to categorize the world and present persuasive arguments for your positions.

Now, before you can frame your idea in a way that is really persuasive, you first have to have a good body of knowledge about yoru topic. You don'thave to be an expert but you do have to have an interest. I have recently had to explain to people what is private property, how to think about it and then how to use it to evaluate transactional values. It's not their fault they did not know, I did not fully understand the idea until the last year or so either as I was forced to work my way through figuring out a system for evaluating where I am going to weark a mask and where I am not going to wear a mask.

But, what I do have experience in is persuasion. Technically, everyone has experience in persuasion as it is part of our species genetic makeup, but no one is trained in the persuasion techniques.

The link is an EXCELLENT master class in persuasion. A few points:

  • He is credible because he has mastery of his craft.

  • He is able to summarize the problem and the solution in soundbite.

  • He tells a story with a clear narrative.

  • He tells A VISUAL story. You can see the part about the movie and the part about the kids sitting around a fire in your head.

  • He tells an emotional story.

  • He provides leadership (purpose, direction and motivation) to the group he wants to persuade.

An absolute masterful example of persuasion. This is also an excellent example why Trump is a great sales person but not a great leader. Trump has all of the above skills in spades (more than any person we have ever seen honestly) EXCEPT the first and last points: Trump never had mastery of anything substantial and has no depth to draw upon and he could never provide leadership to his followers in terms of prupose direction and motivation.

Lastly, all of you should be watching jews and learning from them. Their species seems to really lean on female social warfare techniques and if you pay attention you can learn all of their tricks and techniques. They aren't that sophisticated, but they do have a genetic quirk that forces them to overfocus on subject matter and you will see them use the same techniques over and over again.

This is a great video example of the core techniques most sophisticated jews use when speaking with non jews, although they use far more indirection than the clear and purposeful persuasion techniques you see in this video.

There are no reasonable arguments that can be made to force / tell someone what to do with their property. EFF and Stallman can write all they want about the moral and political positions on this, but you cannot square private property rights with any argument against property rights. The GPL exist because of the very principle of property rights.

Either we all have property rights and we all get punished for infringing on property rights or all of us are slaves to those around us.

There is no way around this.

You reeeally don't understand the issue here.

Expand on what you think the issues are.

People keep on saying this but I have yet to see a single post that provides a mechanism or framework for understanding and evaluating the issue.
