interesting, donkey.

Find someone with micro$oft flight sim, load up a "landing" to some big city airport like JFK or LAX.

Try flying the aircraft into the nearest tall building, you might be surprised.

Steering a plane is a lot like steering a boat. The air is just another kind of fluid, like water.

look, you clearly are unfamiliar with the official story, the planes were hickacked 500 miles from new york, they had to be turned around and flown quite a distance to a precise location not in the flight computer. It's not the same as taking off at JFK on micro flight sim....

You are correct, for some reason I believed that all but the fight that crashed in a remote field had taken off in the vicinity of NYC.

If navigation were involved, that would be a bit more challenging. Still it would have been easy enough to program a NYC airport or navaid into the computer while in flight. The plane could have been hand flown to a heading of 045 until the computer was programmed. They didn't even have to hand fly the plane for very long since it would be simple to engage the auto pilot heading/altitude hold.

Obviously they would have needed some information about the autopilot system and flight computer to avoid hand flying the entire trip. I know that they did supposedly receive some flight training, but I'm not aware of what they were specifically taught. 747s have been modeled in various flight sims for decades now and it can't be too difficult to find a operating handbook which would include information about the navigation systems.

These days you can find guides for F-16/F-18s systems on youtube.
