China today is more fascist than communist. The large corporations in China can operate freely, as long as they support the state. The common people are subjected to a despotism that does not permit free expression.

The short answer is yes and no. They are hybrid communist. They use crony capitalism, fascism, totalitarianism, and communism today.

The problem with people is they believe something has to be pure and can only be 100% that one thing. Not so. They have evolved to become a hybrid for the globalist socioeconomic and sociopolitical models.
