The Jung quote at the start states something that is simply untrue. Jung wrote that psychic epidemics are more devastating than natural catastrophes. He must have had a limited historical outlook, or a limited imagination. A large comet hitting the Earth would be a good deal more devastating than any "psychic epidemic."
