Yeah, it's essentially a game of chicken, though it doesn't mean that whoever flinches first loses necessarily. But that's how it goes when people are actually armed.
It's just like with people who conceal carry on a larger scale: concealed carry folks will tell you that they have to avoid conflict and not get too pissed off in public, not get into fights, blah blah to avoid drawing on someone and escalating (potentially unnecessarily).
I too would prefer that something be done about the ZOG and the rapidly deteriorating situation of things before it gets to the point where it's really bad, but for a lot of reasons I find it unlikely.
